Aside from Downtown Evansville, no other district is more promising and filled with more opportunities than our 3rd Ward. You can view the layout of the 3rd Ward here...

While Kleymeyer Park (the park where the ball fields need to be built at) is right across Pigeon Creek from the 3rd Ward in the 5th Ward, both Bosse Field as well as Roberts Stadium sit squarely in the 3rd Ward with Garvin Park and Wesselman Park respectively.
On a side note, we also have the opportunity to turn the 3rd Ward around by constructing a Tech Park down old and new US 41 like Indianapolis is doing with their 16 Tech plan...

With all of that being said, it is EXTREMELY important that we get a candidate on the council who is willing to fight for Roberts Stadium and the 3rd Ward. Unlike the 2nd Ward, we have two, not 1, highly respectable candidates who both have good visions and ideas for the 3rd Ward.
But the reason why Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley should get your vote on November 8th is because she has been dedicated to the Save Roberts Stadium cause for well over 8 months now when her campaign first started. As soon as she found out about the Save Roberts Stadium movement, Stephanie contacted me, set up a meeting, gathered all of the information about Roberts Stadium, and then took the position that she will fight for those in the 3rd Ward who want to save Roberts Stadium.
Stephanie didn't take this position lightly, she made sure she has done whatever it takes to voice her support for Robert Stadium and her opposition to its demise. When we did the Save Roberts Stadium t-shirt drive last spring, Stephanie was one of the first in line to purchase a shirt and she made sure she wore it everywhere she went so that city hall and residents of Evansville knew that she supported Roberts Stadium. I'm deeply appreciative to Stephanie for fighting for Roberts Stadium!
By taking the position of supporting Roberts Stadium, Stephanie will be fighting for the vast majority, if not all, of her residents in the 3rd Ward. Neither I, nor any poll worker for the Rick Davis campaign have encountered a neighbor of Roberts Stadium that wants to see the venue torn down. These are the people that Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley, a Roberts Stadium neighbor herself, has heard loud and clear since day 1 and has pledged to serve them on the Evansville City Council.
If you get a chance, drive down Boeke, East Franklin, East Michigan, East Iowa, and any other street located adjacent to Roberts Stadium. You will see over 150 Save Roberts Stadium yard signs that Save Roberts Stadium supporter Sherman Stevens has placed in the yards of those residents who want their voice to be heard. And make no mistake, there are more yard signs on the way! That's who Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley has pledged to fight for on the council since the very beginning of her campaign which has now been over 8 months ago.
Not only will we have a candidate who I feel with give us the home court advantage we need to put us over the top, we will also have a candidate who will have the willingness, the dedication, and the desire to clean up the Bosse Field district where the ball fields project needs to be.
After all, doesn't 8 ball fields belong next to America's third oldest active ballpark in America? Doesn't the ball fields belong in a district that truly is a "Recovery Zone?" Shouldn't we stimulate a district that has the ability to connect Downtown Evansville with the north side of Evansville? Shouldn't we improve a neighborhood that is sitting and wondering why the Jacobsville community to the south is getting improved while it is allowed to go to ruins?
It just makes sense to kill two birds with one stone by saving Roberts Stadium and improving the Bosse Field district at the same time. Stephanie understands this and I can't express how truly grateful I would be to you if you would put her on the council so that we can push this movement over the goal line.
Over 50 years ago, Evansville residents in the 3rd Ward took a stand by voting for Hank Roberts. They did this because they saw the potential in constructing Roberts Stadium in their neighborhood. Now, I am asking those in the 3rd Ward to take the same stand these residents took 50 years ago. I am asking those in the 3rd Ward to support Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley who will take a stand for Roberts Stadium.
Let's give Roberts Stadium the home court advantage, let's vote Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley in the 3rd Ward!
