Tomorrow Remember Those Candidates Who Will Remember Roberts Stadium

Tomorrow, election day is finally here. It seems like just yesterday we were going to the polls to elect representatives to Washington D.C.

But now it is spring and you know as well as I know that this primary is going to be the biggest primary in Evansville's rich history. I've said it a thousand times, but I'll say it again: we need to change course if we are going to save Roberts Stadium.

On the right hand side of this blog, you will see the candidates who have given me a solid verbal commitment that they will give a good faith effort to save Roberts Stadium.

When I first started this blog, I was on an island. I put it at 5-95% that the ball fields would win out over historic Roberts Stadium. Today, the results are quite the opposite.

Last fall, while filming the WNIN/Courier & Press show Newsmakers, I met Mr. Rick Davis. It was during this show that Mr. Davis came out in full support of Roberts Stadium (go to the 13:45 mark)...

Since that day, we have been rolling. Political candidates Al Lindsey, Patrick McBride, Stephanie Riley, Jeremy Heath, and now Dr. H. Dan Adams have all come aboard the Roberts Stadium express. Sylvia Niemeier and Martha Crosley from the Wesselman Support Group invited me to go flyering the Roberts Stadium neighborhood to compile ideas for the historic venue (Not ONE person wanted Roberts Stadium demolished). I have also talked this past week to Mr. Steven Smith and Mr. Pete Swaim who are putting ideas together as we speak to keep Roberts Stadium standing. They too, deserve your vote.

If we are going to save Roberts Stadium, we have to keep this momentum going. Last fall, you the voters put Marsha Abell in office over Troy Tornatta because you didn't like the ball fields. Now, I'm asking you to vote for those names above to send a strong message to city hall that you want Roberts Stadium left intact.

Tomorrow, as you go into the polls, remember those who will remember Roberts Stadium!
