E Lon Walters Joins The Save Roberts Stadium Movement

Tonight, I just sealed up a firm commitment from 2nd Ward City Council Candidate E Lon Walters that he will give us a good faith effort to save Roberts Stadium. I am EXTREMELY happy to have E Lon on board, and he gave me this message to pass on to you the supporters of Roberts Stadium....

One idea I have is using the Roberts Stadium for medium sized trade shows. For example, in the U.S. there are currently over 2500 trade shows held every year. According to the recent census, Evansville is within a day’s drive of 80% of the population. Evansville is perfectly located to host many of these shows. The Center is not big enough for these medium size shows and the new arena will not work well for shows like this or the home show for that matter. This would require removing the top row of seats, (if not all the seats), and raising the floor level giving the stadium a large open area that would be conducive to trade shows. Some of this material could also be used as fill to raise the floor. Raising the floor will do away with the need for the pumps. Ultimately, I believe we should let the citizens of Evansville decide what the best use will be. We should put together a committee comprised from business people, engineers, common citizens, and financial people to put together a list of at least 3 to 4 ideas for the people of Evansville to choose from for the future use of Robert Stadium.
If you visit E Lon's website, http://www.lonforcouncil.com, you will see many great things (besides the obvious Save Roberts Stadium), but by far away there is one thing that sticks out most to me (under Experience tab)...

1983–2011 E. L. WALTERS Air Conditioning & Heating Inc. Evansville, IN

President / Owner

Started business with $1,300 loan, (cash value on policy), on my life insurance policy, working out of my home.

Within 3 years we had outgrown that location, purchased property and built new shop at 12430 N. Green River Road.

We have over the year’s added additional property and buildings at the Green River Road location. Moved into new office, located at 12420 N. Green River Rd. in the spring of 2003.

To me, that is unbelievable how much courage and determination Mr. Walters showed by taking that big of a risk to start his own business. Those traits right there are EXACTLY what we need if we are going to be successful in saving Roberts Stadium. I have all the confidence in the world that E Lon will do everything in his power to give us a full faith effort to save Roberts Stadium.

So, all of you Evansville residents who live in the 2nd Ward absolutely, positively need to make sure you head to the polls in November and vote E Lon Walters into the Evansville City Council.

Save Roberts Stadium Endorses E Lon Walters For The 2nd Ward Evansville City Council!
