Dr. Dan Adams Comes Aboard The Save Roberts Stadium Express

As we get closer to election day (just 48 hours), I am pleased to report that we have another candidate who supports Save Roberts Stadium. That candidate is none other than Dr. H. Dan Adams who is running for another term as City Councilman At-Large.

I spoke with Dr. Adams a few days ago and am quite confident that he truly understands the powerful history, nostalgia, and glory that Roberts Stadium possess.

Today Dr. Adams sent me a letter that was written by a friend of his that he believes represents his view of Roberts Stadium. I also agree with Dr. Adams on this article as it clearly tells the story of Roberts Stadium supporters like you and I.

The article made the Courier & Press today so I will send you this link...

http://www.courierpress.com/news/2011/may/01/iconic-roberts-deserves-a-new-life/

There were two parts in that article that stood out to me...

"Roberts Stadium is an icon — that is to say, a venerated image in our soul's eye.

Generations of Evansville people have come into it to laugh, cheer, cry and be entertained. One does not throw that kind of love away willy-nilly."

This right here sums up PERFECTLY why we should fight for Roberts Stadium. Many legends, many heroes, and many great performers have walked through the halls of Roberts Stadium. We must stand up for Roberts Stadium!

"We have excellent business schools locally. Why not let them do a business plan and market evaluation for Roberts?

Thus partially outsourced and owned by several entities, this beloved structure can be reinvented for the benefit of all.

But it takes new vision, a fire in the belly and a willingness to truly act outside of the box, not just to scurry and think outside of it.

Rick Davis and Dan Adams, plus many others, want to begin that process."

Well said! For this reason, I am asking you to go to the polls Tuesday and pull the lever for Rick Davis and Dr. H. Dan Adams (as well as those on the right hand side). Roberts Stadium is too valuable not to place it in the hands of those who care and respect it. We need to make sure we get the right in city hall if we are going to have any shot at saving this great Evansville icon.

On May 3rd, vote Dr. H. Dan Adams to the City Council on the democratic ballot!
